Cromarty

Cromarty on the Black Isle, north of Inverness, is one of our favourite places to visit. It's a gem. Perfect location to unwind. The words 'hurry' and 'rush' do not exist in Cromarty. It is really laid back and peaceful. The image above show the headlands known as the Sutors. Beyond them is the Moray Firth.
Everywhere you look is worth a photograph.
Good to see that the red telephone box is still in place.

A must visit. So many very tempting and tasty things to buy.

Down at the harbour.

This won't be going anywhere!
Just across from Cromarty is the deep harbour at Nigg, where work on oil rigs is undertaken. There is a car and passenger ferry that operates in the summer months between Cromarty and Nigg.
Fishing nets (Pic - Lynda Braithwaite).
Through the shadows to the Cromarty Firth shore.
One of the many neatly painted cottages.
The Hugh Miller Institute building.
A grand entrance.
Many of the streets run down towards the shore.
A nice location.
This sums up Cromarty perfectly.
